Country Living Seminar Series
The economic downturn has focused our attention on regaining some of the traditional skills for self-sufficient rural living like gardening, canning, animal husbandry, etc. Living among us here in the Skyline area are many folks who have first-hand practical knowledge gained over many years of growing plants or raising livestock on the Hill. To connect knowledgeable locals with those who want to learn more skills for self-reliance, SRN sponsors an on-going series of workshops on “Country Living” topics.
Dates & Venue
Country Living workshops are held at various times throughout the year. Check the website Calendar or the latest Skyline Ridge Runner for workshop announcements. Unless otherwise indicated, workshops begin at 9AM, last about 90 minutes (including question time) and will be held at the Skyline Grange, 11275 NW Skyline Blvd. SRN requests a suggested donation of $3 per person or $5 per couple to help defray expenses.
Are there any subjects that you are particularly interested to learn about? Do you have practical experience in a particular subject and willingness to teach others, or can you recommend a friend or neighbor who does? SRN welcomes your input as we develop new topics for Country Living workshops and recruit speakers. Please contact country_living [at] srnpdx [dot] org (Natalie Harger), Country Living series coordinator.
