Skyline Grange Woods Work Party
Date: Saturday, December 4, 2010
Time: 9:00 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Why: Through a grant from WMSWCD, Skyline Grange is re-creating a healthy forest on its land.
Volunteers Requested
Skyline Grange Woods Project seeks woodsworkers to cull & harvest this untidy couple of unkempt acres. Free firewood in trade for volunteer time. Ultimately it will be replanted as a model forestry, habitat specimen, but not until there's major removal. Is there a lumber company who might have all the equipment & needs an immense receipt of gratitude? Church Group Leaders helping members? Scout Leaders looking for meaningful projects? Time for labor is the trade. We'll meet again Saturday December 4th at the Grange, 9AM to noon. People with chainsaws, loppers, pruners, winches skidders & other heavy equipment & willingness are particularly welcome. Direct inquiries to Tracy Waters, bluewaters [at] pcez [dot] com

Please send good condition children's books to Bart Millar in Room 223 at LHS. Reading levels K-8---Boxcar Children, Goosebumps, Dr. Seuss--all are welcome. These donations give children a chance to fall in love with reading. Donated books go to a student bookstore at Marysville school, in collaboration with teacher Donna Murphy there.

A reader asks:
My friend told me of long ago seeing airplane wreckage, she thinks in the area of Skyline and Johnson Rd. She thinks it was from the 1940's or 1950's.
Also, they remember hearing about an old graveyard or Indian burial ground "near" Skyline & Germantown..
Does anyone know anything about these?
Just curious.
