MC Land Use issued a public notice for Opportunity to Comment on an application for an Alteration/Replacement of a Nonconforming Use Permit & Significant Environmental Concerns Permit for wildlife habitat and scenic view.  Applicant is seeking to remove all but a few walls of existing family dwelling, to move existing carport & shipping container, to build a 620 sq ft garage, replace septic system, and to install storm water control system within Rural Residential & SEC for wildlife habitat and scenic view overlay zones.  Comments must arrive at Land Use by 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 17.  Case No. T2-10-002.  For more info, visit

Notice of Decision Re: Rocky Point Marina @ 23586 NW St Helens Rd: 
County Commissioners made its final decision on January 28.  It approved the T4-08-001 requested exceptions to the Statewide Planning Goals 11 and 14, contingent upon the Marina meeting the conditions approvals set out in the T4-08-001 Staff Report.  It denied the request for expansion of the Marina to exceed the residential density limit in the county code.  This decision may be appealed to LUBA within 21 days of Jan. 28 by any person or organizations that appeared & testified at the hearing, or by those who submitted written testimony into the record.  For more information, visit  http://www.sunschools.org/Public/EntryPoint?ch=a0ce713af49d5110VgnVCM1000003bc614acRCRD, and click onto T4-08-001.

Expert on Urban Wildlife to Speak at Oregon Zoo:
On Tues., Feb. 16 at 7 p.m.  Dr. John Hadidian is an engaging speaker.  He has devoted his life to promoting strategies to protect urban wildlife populations.
