SKYLNE SCHOOL
Excerpts from the Eagles Nest
From the Principal
"... In addition to our educational goals I look forward to working with parents, staff and students to continue to improve the look and feel of Skyline. Our grounds have been transformed from an overgrown mess to a wonderful feature of our school. This work has taken several years to complete, and as we prepare to finish the signage we are starting to see the amazing fruits of the labor of many parents, students, and community members.
As we enter the New Year the wonderful mosaic that surrounds the school will continue to improve and develop thanks to the wonderful folks who have helped to make it happen. Thanks to all of you who have helped make Skyline look so good.
Ben Keefer,
Principal
DonorsChoose.org
DonorsChoose.org is a charitable organization dedicated to funding classroom supplies requested by teachers. Several Skyline School staff members have written DonorsChoose proposals for items to benefit their students. Bing (the search engine) is giving away a million dollars toward DonorsChoose projects, and we’d like Skyline to receive some of that money. But we have to act fast before the million is given away to other schools. The Skyline School web site www.pps.k12.or.us/schools/skyline describes the program and the donation process in detail, but here it is in a nutshell: Interested parents log intobing.com/gives, and enter an email address. Bing emails back a code which is worth $5.00. Then, the parent goes to the DonorsChoose.org web site, selects a Skyline project, and enters that code. Bing donates the $5, at no cost to you (other than 10 minutes of your time)! Please participate in the bing.com offer – it is a great way to help our Skyline Students.
