SKYLINE SCHOOL:
On Thursday 12/1, from 6:00-7:30 pm in the Gym, Director of Enrollment and Transfer Judy Brennan will lead a discussion about K-8 enrollment at Skyline, with a special focus on the current guaranteed enrollment of Skyline neighborhood students, with bus transportation, at East/West Sylvan Middle School. I learned today that PPS School Board Member Bobbie Regan will also attend Skyline's Enrollment/Middle Grades discussion on Thursday night. Please come to the Skyline Gym on Thursday to have your voice heard about Middle Grades options for Skyline students, and about K-8 enrollment. (Limited childcare is available; please RSVP to me or to Mrs. Hall, shall [at] pps [dot] net, to reserve childcare space.) Updated information about the K-8 enrollment balancing process, including PPS Staff/Superintendent's recommendations to the School Board, can be found here:
COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS:
The Linnton Community Center has a few openings in our full day state certified child care- open from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. Between 8:30 am and noon the children spend becoming familiar with the Spanish language as they learn the skills needed to prepare them to thrive at Skyline School. This is a combined Immersion preschool with one teacher that practices songs, fingerplays, speaks & reads stories in Spanish only to the children.
