November 2010 Work Party
November 13th was the first Grange Woods Work Party. George Sowder, Pat Barnard, Miles Merwin & Tracy Waters began @ 9AM. Mary Ornie arrived @ 11 AM, Ken Pincus @ 1PM. Laurel Harroun brought lunch to go with the muffins Mary had baked. By the time the day was done three good sized trees had been hauled up the bank. Piles of logs had been sorted, a brush pile begun and a pick-up truck load of logs for firewood had been dispensed It was a drizzly misty day but everyone worked beautifully together. We're so grateful for the wire rope winch affair on George's handsome old truck that enabled us to haul whole trees up the bank. I learned how to release the choker. Just took a second but I'd never seen one before. It's a nifty tool. The willingness of everyone, especially the guys with their expertise & fancy tools is so impressive. Thanks again! And together this band of woods-workers has generated $467.50 in Match Money for our Grant.
